TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design. I believe TED Talks is the one of the most important sites on the web today. The annual TED conference consists of an extraordinarily elite group of the world’s leading thinkers. Though it is impossible for people like you and I to attend such a conference, TED Talks allows us to watch really smart people talk – from world renown scientists premiering inventions to J.K. Rowling talking at Harvard about the importance of failure.

On the site, one can view talks by:

  1. Subject – Technology, Entertainment, Design, Business, Science, and Global Issues
  2. Events – TED events since 1984 and Partner Sites
  3. Length – 3, 6, 9, 12, and 18 minutes
  4. Language – Extensive languages from Afrikaans to Vietnamese
